The Sunday Express reckons Sir Alex will make an audacious bid to sign Fernando Torres for £40m or, failing that, has Lyon striker Karim Benzema, Barcelona front man Samuel Eto’o, Atletico Madrid’s Sergio Aguero on an ever-increasing shopping list.
Franck Ribery heads the list of wingers linked with a move, despite Bayern's supposed £87m asking price. Ex-Chelsea man Arjen Robben, Valencia's David Silva and Wigan's Antonio Valencia are also named.

Sky Sports News sources understand that Antonio Valencia could complete his switch from Wigan to Manchester United on Monday.
United are said to be close to completing the £16million deal with the Red Devils keen to replace the huge void left by the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid.
The 23-year-old is believed to be in Manchester undergoing a medical and the completion of the move is said to be imminent.
The Latics are set to make a massive profit on the winger after signing him on a permanent deal from Villarreal in January 2008 for a fee believed to be around £3million after enjoying 18 months on loan at the JJB Stadium.
The Ecuador international is unlikely to score as many goals as his Portuguese predecessor with just seven strikes in 89 appearances for the Latics.
However, his ability is not in doubt after three successful seasons in the Premier League.
Despite the big-money transfer it remains to be seen whether Valencia will handed the legendary number seven shirt at Old Trafford.

Manchester interested in Michel Bastos ?

So ... rumours. Manchester United want Lyon's Brazilian wing-back Michel Bastos, who is 27 years old and a potential replacement for Patrice Evra, who "some sources" say is unsettled in Manchester and angling for a move back to his native France.
I don't think that Evra will leave United. He is 29, he can play 3-4 years on a high level, like the PL is. And he is still one of the best players on his position, equally Manchester does as one of the best, if not the best club in the world. He can move back to France by the time he is too old to play games through in the PL, when he is 34-35.
