Hirving Lozano picked up an injury today in the CONCACAF Gold Cup match between Mexico and Trinidad & Tobago. Around 10 minutes into the contest, the Napoli forward collided forcefully with the onrushing goalkeeper. Chucky was caught in the face and suffered an injury above his left eye.
The player was immediately taken to hospital for observation. His condition is not a cause for concern and he will undergo an MRI scan in the coming hours. Napoli's team doctor, Raffaele Canonico, is in constant contact with the Mexican medical staff for updates on the forward’s condition.

Lozano geht es mittlerweile schon wieder etwas besser, sodass er sich nun auch persönlich zu Wort gemeldet hat. Chucky ist vom Gold Cup abgereist und wird rund vier bis sechs Wochen ausfallen.

Ich denke man sollte seine Aussagen nicht überbewerten, doch man kann sicherlich festhalten, dass er sich alles andere als intelligent verhalten hat. Einen gewissen Ehrgeiz sollte man als Fußballprofi besitzen, aber hier hat sich Chucky ziemlich übernommen. Aktuell ist er noch weit entfernt von seiner guten Form aus der letzten Saison. Hier wäre etwas mehr Demut angebracht. Als Spieler des Tabellenführers von einem ,,Wechsel zu einem größeren Klub" zu sprechen, halte ich ohnehin für eine unglückliche Formulierung, auch wenn wir natürlich alle wissen, dass einige europäische Topklubs deutlich höhere Gehälter zahlen als Napoli.
Wie würdet ihr Lozanos Aussagen einordnen?

Ich sehe die Aussagen ebenfalls ziemlich kritisch. Es ist ja nicht so, dass Chucky derzeit mit übermäßigen Leistungen auf sich aufmerksam machen würde und Napoli offensichtlich entwachsen wäre. Im Gegenteil, er muss derzeit durchaus um seinen Stammplatz kämpfen. Eigentlich hat Politano sogar etwas die Nase vorne. Anstatt solche forschen Aussagen zu tätigen, sollte Lozano also lieber erst mal sein Potential abrufen und bei uns der Unterschiedsspieler sein, der er von seinen Anlagen her definitiv sein könnte.
Auch wenn ich die Aussagen kritisch sehe, will ich sie nicht überbewerten. Grundsätzlich ist es ja richtig, dass Sportler ambitionierte Ziele haben und hoch hinauswollen. Aber das Timing und die Schärfe der Aussagen missfallen mir.
Generell finde ich es ärgerlich, dass wir gerade von außen wieder etwas Unruhe herangetragen bekommen. Die ganze Causa rund um den auslaufenden Vertrag von Insigne - und jetzt diese Aussagen von Lozano. Der volle Fokus sollte eigentlich auf dem Topspiel gegen Inter liegen!
