Helmond Sport is a Dutch football club from Helmond. The club was founded on July 27, 1967, after the professional license was taken over from Helmondia '55 in order to maintain professional football in Helmond. In 1982, Helmond Sport had a top season in which it won its first period title and later became champion of the First Division. As a result, they will play in the Eredivisie for the first time the following season. With fifteenth place they barely avoided relegation, but a year later relegation was a fact. In 1985 another great success in the history of Helmond Sport follows. It reaches the cup final after eliminating FC Wageningen in the semi-final over two games. Helmond Sport loses the cup final to FC Utrecht. Helmond Sport plays its home games at the GS Staalwerken Stadium.
